Alright, so I pulled this movie out of my own collection and, while it may not be the best, it’s a great little romance movie. To start off, I’m not really one for the big theatrical romances like the Nicholas Sparks movies, but what I do enjoy are the simple, no nonsense romances.
The film is about 32-year-old, past his prime in tennis years, Peter Colt who is about to go to his last Wimbledon (that being the huge, world-wide, Tennis competition). When he is accidentally given the wrong hotel key he is met with the young, sassy, beautiful and American tennis player Lizzie. Awkward sparks fly and the two can’t seem to stay away from each other.
This film is simply about two people falling in love during the exciting Wimbledon competition where infatuation can be your muse or downfall. Honestly, besides some sketchy sound at times (it felt like it echoed slightly at times) this film is pretty good. I like it, because it’s not about the drama and the heartache. I mean, certainly, there are moments that are difficult, but it’s not the end-of-the-world ‘I may die if I can’t be with you’ crap.
